The Left, sensing that Mr Obama is wavering and beginning to rethink his campaign contention that Afghanistan was the “good war” as opposed to Mr Bush’s evil Iraq adventure, is throwing its lot in with Mr Biden. There’s a solidifying conventional wisdom in Washington that Mr Biden’s star is in the ascendant. This week’s Newsweek front cover sporting the vice-president’s steely visage beside the headline “Why Joe is No Joke” is no doubt already framed in the Biden downstairs loo. If Mr Obama really believes that’s true then we could all be in big trouble.

LOL Czar Joey Plugs is a dangerous fool- it’s really not funny having him in a position of power like this at all.
He frequently appears to have no idea what he’s talking about, but this has little effect on the level of output from this mother-of-all-loose-cannons. And since Biden has been consistently on the wrong side of history for 30 years… his DNC-vaunted foreign policy “experience” has little value… this hack doesn’t appear to have learned a thing.
But to Team Obama, Biden has a very useful role as the town character- they use him to put risky or incredulous statements out there that help them strategically, and if it causes problems, they can just say “oh, that’s just ol’ Joe… you know how he is”. Examples include when he said the economy’s in danger of “really tanking” when they where peddling the Porkulus.

Hey now! R & B were serious characters who imparted great wisdom and life lessons.
Rocky was sort of Yoda with a tail.
And Bullwinkle was like Luke – but hornier.
Biden and obama, on the other hand, could be compared, at best, to Boris and Natasha.

The problem is that it won’t work. Only fools and Corruptocrats think that Biden is anything but a dim witted fool.
If they let crazy Uncle Joe Gaffemeister out of the attic long enough to open his mouth in a situation that they can not totally control all their worshipful MSM propaganda will be for naught because anyone with a firing synapse will see him for exactly who and what he is.
I suspect that they may doing this because they know that if they lose the legislative branch in 2010 one of the first things that will happen is that Obamao will be impeached and his merry band of Maoist czars kicked to the curb. If that occurs they will want to make sure that crazy Uncle Joe Gaffemeister looks like “Presidential material”. If he doesn’t and the Obamashite hitting the fan starts sticking to him he could get kicked to the curb, too. With this, NEWSWEEK has been reduced to a graphic poster on the magazine rack. No one is going to pick that up and read it. And looks like they know it so the whole thing is geared to send the message by the cover alone.
That’s a lot of cynical money being spent – a magazine reduced to a cover political ad. The actual magazine now is skinnier than its old international edition, which was the articles less 3/4 of the ad pages.
No way NEWSWEEK is making any money so who’s subsidizing this?

It really makes me wonder, how long the print media can survive. We thought it would be hard to live w/out the daily paper. I cancelled after the election, and it’s added immeasurably to our sanity. EVERY page is now the editorial page, from metro news to sports, all those writers have an agenda, and it’s all the same. Even feature writers are on the cultural warpath. I can’t tell you the last time I picked up Time or Newsweek, I won’t even read it in the dentists office.

a) Cancel your newspaper sub.
b) Cancel any “news” magazine sub.
The people who write that crap need to find out what it’s like to sweat a paycheck.

Solaratov, you are right, I got carried away, what was I thinking denouncing Rocky and Bullwinkle so cheaply. I loved them as a kid. Hey, we’d be safer for the next three years with Rocky in charge. The little guy was a patriot in his heart of hearts. I don’t remember him ever lying.
