California GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Steve Poizner slammed Obama and democrats over their plan to take over the health care industry. Poizner, a successful California businessman, asks, “Do you really want government to start up a new agency?… The numbers don’t even jive… The democrat’s plan should raise red flags for everyone.”

Poizner suggests that Congress open states to more free market insurance options. This is would be one immediate way to bring down costs that won’t cost taxpayers a thing.
Sounds simple, huh?

Poizner attended Western CPAC in Newport Beach on Saturday October 17, 2009.

  1. “Do you really want government to start up a new agency?…”

    What more can you say…?

  2. The government never makes a sound, simple, business decision.

Besides, has anyone heard what is going to happen with Medicare and Medicaid? Is the new “coverage” (cough) taking their place?

    Hhhmm?

  3. To be fair, Poizner is the curent INSURANCE COMMISSIONER in California. So, what could he possibly know about the insurance industry?

  4. “The Numbers Don’t Even Jive”….

    No, but the president does.

    Thank you, thank you.
Tip your waitress. They’re people too.

  5. The numbers do jive… what they don’t do is jibe.

  6. “…..A new agency?”

Try 52 NEW bureaus, agencies, departments, councils, etc.

All this thing does is make “work” for a few thousand new government drones – and disrupt the lives of millions of Americans.

  7. This has been a disaster from day one. I agree that allowing heath insurance companies to work in any state would give much more competition. There would be massive price wars for companies wanting your health dollars. Price wars would lower profits.

This is a quote from Huffpo from Obamas’ radio address.
“And for decades, whenever we have tried to reform the system, the insurance companies have done everything in their considerable power to stop us.”

Ralph Nadar has been taking on the health care, drug companies, car companies, etc. for decades. IMHO, he has been the only one in Washington without an agenda, just working for us.

This is really not about party, this is being fought by the health care lobby. There is BIG money in health care, and the companies and lobbyists are not wanting it messed with.

Remember that old expression “follow the money”?

If you think Congress, any party, is really working for us, ask yourself how many turned down their pay raise while the rest of us are in a recession?

oh please, Congress has been giving themselves pay raises in the midnight hour every year since 9/11, didn’t count the years before then, but who really needs to..

also been asking why “we the people” aka: their empoloyer are not the ones who decide on Congressional pay raises..

    crickets..

    sarc on/

oh yeah, they also opted to switch themselves to Public Option Health Care to prove how good it is for “we the people”..

    oh wait..

    /sarc off

  9. And here is how these sleezeballs are going to try to ram healthcare through Congress.

  10. UK universal health care bypassed by its own workers

Stunning! Britain’s National Health Service care standards may be good enough for ordinary folks, but the people who work there know better. They are getting taxpayer money to pay for their own private care.

Sort of sounds like Congress, doesn’t it?

  11. This is news? Everything the government touches turns to ash–everything. When the government runs the military, it turns to ash, namely the stalemate in Vietnam (could have been won so easily with the same strategy as Korea).

The best example of this is Social Security, initially invented in Germany by conservatives in the 1880s as a ponzi scheme as you could get benefits when you reached age 70–but the life expectancy was 45 at the time. It has been copied around the western world—however this time by socialists who kept the age requirement the same, even lowering it despite the life expectancy increasing by 70% over the past six generations.

  12. Those shilling for Obamacare would simply retort as follows: “This man has made millions, if not billions, as a member of the insurance industry. Of course he is against healthcare for the poor!”…

  13. bg,
“oh please, Congress has been giving themselves pay raises in the midnight hour every year since 9/11, didn’t count the years before then, but who really needs to.. ”

But with the country in such terrible shape that they needed to pass trillion dollar stimulus bills without reading them, you would think maybe they might realize or feel the need to contribute or make concessions to help, along with us. OK, you can stop laughing…

“also been asking why “we the people” aka: their empoloyer are not the ones who decide on Congressional pay raises.. ”

Seem like once they step on DC soil, they forget who their employers and electors are.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the whole bunch of them.

  15. “The numbers do jive… what they don’t do is jibe.”

Thank you. Your vigilance is appreciated, although your response may have begged the question… :)
