For the first time in recent years Republicans lead Democrats in all 10 key electoral issues.

After democrats tripled the budget deficit and nearly doubled unemployment in less than one year, Republicans hold a 14 point lead over democrats on economic issues.
Rasmussen reported:
For the first time in recent years, voters trust Republicans more than Democrats on all 10 key electoral issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports. The GOP holds double-digit advantages on five of them.
Republicans have nearly doubled their lead over Democrats on economic issues to 49% to 35%, after leading by eight points in September.
The GOP also holds a 54% to 31% advantage on national security issues and a 50% to 31% lead on the handling of the war in Iraq.
But voters are less sure which party they trust more to handle government ethics and corruption, an issue that passed the economy in voter importance last month. Thirty-three percent (33%) trust Republicans more while 29% have more confidence in Democrats. Another 38% are undecided. Last month, the parties were virtually tied on the issue.

Politico has an article about how the Republican Party is coming apart. Figures!!! Its interesting that Obama is already throwing the Dem under the bus in the Va. Governor’s race. Beware Blue Dogs if you follow Obama’s lead and you go down, he’ll throw you under the same bus.

What you’re saying sounds like neither party stays in favor very long. Budget messes are so bad they might take many years to recover.

I have a hard time understanding how anyone could find Sarah Palin charismatic. I mean, have you heard her speak? It reminds me of when the press kept describing Arnold as charismatic back in the gubernatorial election. I mean, there’s a reason the guy’s most famous acting role was playing a machine. Palin and Arnold are good-looking, but they’re not charismatic.

A bit OT but you must read about what is happening in the VA gov. race.
BO threw Deeds under the bus, a Clinton rally drew a “few hundred” people, Al Gore came in for a fundraiser but no rally was ever held, etc.

Right. Just like Glenn Beck never reported on the 9/12 March. Of course.

But then, you’re a dimocrat – so you wouldn’t know charisma if it bit you on the butt. (You probably think obama’s charismatic)
And, democrats aren’t very smart anyway. If they were smart, they’d be Conservatives.

No surprise there, the congressional democrats and the marxist in chief have been an utter disaster for this country and it’s good the American people see this far leftwing party for what it is.
Obama’s election in 2008 will doom the left for the next 20 years. The American people have seen the left for what it is, a group of loosely associated nitwits that are much better as the party out of power, then when they actually have to govern and do something other then vote present.
Obama is an empty suit and unqualified. For the good of the country, he should immediately resign and appologize to the American people for what has been a disasterous 9 months in office.

Our “Republican” governor just signed legislation that requires us to give our names and our thumbprints when buying handgun ammo. For our safety, you see.
Look at that Reising 50 SMG on the table in your photo. I’ve read that it was a total piece of garbage. Apparently you could scrape the bluing off the barrel with your fingernail…

The Reising was supposed to be a less-expensive alternative to the Thompson; and it could be mass-produced.
Unfortunately, it was (and still is) garbage. One had to practically stand on the sling to keep the muzzle from rising – even with a muzzle break!
And it was very unreliable.
Of course, with all of its faults, it ended up being issued to the Marines in WW2. They promptly threw them away in the jungle and stole Thompsons and Garands from the Army. And the Reisings were counted as “lost in combat” (which was a legitimate excuse in that era and venue).
For some reason, people buy them as collector’s items now. That wasn’t so bad when you could get them for $50-$100, but at today’s prices – they’re a waste unless you run a museum and need one to fill wall space.
Everything else – with the possible exception of the two Ruger 556ACs – aren’t too bad.
btw, With the exception of the Barrett, I’ve shot everything on that table.

The HK MP-5(w/suppressor) is a lot of fun; as is the HK-51k (though it needs a suppressor).
And the Suppressed Ruger Mk-II is an absolute gem (though I’ve always used the High Standard HD Military for social purposes).
The Barrett and I have just never gotten together – but it’s on my list. If I had a loose $8500.00 floating around (and another $3000.00 for a good scope), I’d certainly have one in the gun room.
