Obama and democrats spent billions this year on their stimulus plan and all we got was another trillion dollars in debt. But what do they care?
They won’t have to pay it back.
Your children will.
Let’s hope they like to work…
Because your kids are going to be paying off the Pelosi-Obama debt for a long, long time.
Dafeat the Debt released this powerful ad against the runaway government spending by the Pelosi-Obama regime:
From the website: DefeatTheDebt.com is dedicated to educating Americans about the size, scope, and consequences of our rapidly escalating debt.
Reducing our yearly budget deficit and paying down the national debt transcends political lines. From Obama Administration officials, to Democrats and Republicans in Congress, to American citizens, everyone agrees that something must be done to reduce the debt.
The difficulty is that we’re going in the wrong direction—quickly. This year the Congressional Budget Office projects that we’ll add an additional $1.58 trillion to the $11,957,467,202,001.66 we already owe.
Unfortunately, too many Americans fail to comprehend the sheer size or consequences of such abstract budget statistics. We intend to solve that problem.

Does the GW Bush stimulus bill count as part of that debt? Is he to blame also?
Patrick S commented:
I believe GW’s portion (if I remember correctly, it was approx. 350 billion, as he deferred the other half to the incoming Pres. Obama) should be counted, yes. Obama and Congress own the rest.
Joe commented:
Although, we wouldn’t have needed any stimulus bill if it weren’t for the GW Bush administration, so I think quite a large % of the blame for any deficit belongs to your man.

The Bush stimulus bill, HR 1424 sponsored by (D) Patrick Kennedy and cosponsored by 274 mostly democrats and also the same bill obama voted yes on . That Bush stimulus bill Joe?
Jack commented:
How about letting kids be kids. I’m sick of the politicizing of kids. Can’t we do that “for the children”?
It doesn’t take a mental genius to figure out that we’re getting and have been royally screwed by both parties.

The really disgusting part, though, is that joey actually believes that a trillion dollar “stimulus” was somehow necessary to correvt anything.
If the market had been allowed to correct naturally, unemployment wouldn’t be nearly as high – and the recession might actually be nearing an end.
Unfortunately, we’ve got obama.
Leftists like joey just parrot whatever talking points they’ve been handed – without ever once taking the time to verify them.
They’re simply a herd of cultists, blindly following their little tin god — right over a cliff.

-Absolutely correct. As much as Obama is a communist waste of sperm, it’s the Congress which writes the budgets, writes the legislation and creates policy. The Democratic Congress began work in Jan ’07 and the recession began 9 months later. Case closed. Bush was an idiot, but Obama is incredibly more damaging to our liberty and properity.

One of the best ads I have seen in a while. Now the question, when will the left fly down out of their perches to attack the conservatives for actually teaching children the truth about government and personal responsibility and how the latter should always take precidence over the former.
Mike O commented:
Sorry, but the ads use of kids is not that much different than the Obama pledge songs. I know, this was ‘acting’ and obviously a paid gig that I’m sure the parents knew about, but it still loses some moral ground, including the somewhat disrespectful treatment of the Pledge of Allegiance.
A VERY valid point, though.

Dear Jim,
The US debt. It is so large that it cannot be “paid-off”. What’s to happen? The US can either default or print money. Or both. Kids, get ready for a poor and hostile environment.

Yes… Because kids decrying a national debt that they will end up having to pay is pretty much the same thing as having them sing a song to praise Obama for…
Oh wait… >.<

When my teenage daughter heard that the stimulous bill passed, she started sobbing and said “Why are they ruining my future?” I tried to reassure her saying “the adults are working on it, and that it would be alright”, but after she left the room, I broke down and cried, because I don’t know if we can fix it now. For her, or for the children she will have.

Outstanding job Jim. Scary to think this is after less than 1 year in office. This is the most radical administration ever and their recent attacks on anyone who dares question them, Rush, Beck, Fox is illustrative of just how intolerant and ruthless they are.

Bush’s was not the stimulus bill. It was the TARP, which was Paulson’s loan to banks, specifically to save his own piggy bank Goldman Sachs. The total amount passed was 750+ billion. Bush committed to use half of the sum to prop up AIG, Goldman Sachs, Citi, Bank of America…
Obama used the rest to prop up some other financial institutions, to take over GM and Chrysler. Then Congress passed another 750+ billion “stimulus” to earmark (otherwise known as pork) to their favored industries, friends, and cronies, including Google, GE, … green industries,… On top of that Congress also passed the 2009 budget. The 2009 budget was supposed to be passed by Bush, but the Dems blocked that. They passed stopgap spending until Obama moved into the White House, then they passed another deficit ridden 2009 budget. Yes. the 1 1/2 trillion plus deficit sans 350 billion is Obama’s.

Blaming Bush is just an admission of Obamas incompetence.

(1) I wish there were some moratorium (from both right and left) on using children scripted on film to push this-or-that hot button trendy political agenda.
(2) “Debt” is not, nor has it ever been, the right description of the game being played with our currency. This is inflation of our currency, and could potentially turn into hyperinflation. The amount we are “in debt” is just a euphemism for how many greenback our economic overlords have printed and released into the wild. Inflation is a regressive tax–devaluing the money of responsible lower and middle class people while rewarding spendthrifts and the uber-rich sitting on illiquid property assets.
Best-case scenario for the long-term future: A bout of worldwide hyperinflation sets in, crushing the dollar/euro, and along with it, the power of the state to arbitrarily print and assign value to valueless endeavors. Meanwhile, a new system of assigning value and right to value emerges from internet-based social networks, replacing money as we know it, be it based old-fashion metal specie, or based on whuffie like friendship-points. The big losers: entities that can offer nothing of value but green pieces of papers, i.e. government agencies and subsidized businesses, and those who employ them. The process may be tough, but the outcome will be just as beneficial as the 1780s or 1860s civil upheaval: Separation of capital and state, and a new appreciation for the sacred property rights of the individual forever seared into the hearts and minds of the world’s ruling class.
