Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he is closing in on 60 votes for the democrats plan to nationalize health care at a cost of over $1 trillion to US taxpayers.
The Politico reported:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid closed in on clinching 60 votes for a public health insurance option Friday as two key moderates signaled they wouldn’t stand in his way – clearing a path for Reid to finish work on a bill as early as Tuesday, Democratic officials said.

The moves came a day after Reid presented his idea for a public plan with a state “opt-out” to a skeptical President Barack Obama, who didn’t balk at the idea but questioned whether Reid could truly round up the votes, two sources familiar with the Oval Office meeting said.

So Reid (D-Nev.) spent Friday counting the votes on different public option proposals and finding out what wavering senators need to support the bill – with a heavy focus on centrists in his caucus who now hold the key to health reform.

The quick-moving developments come as Democrats in the House and Senate scramble to lock down votes on the public option, a major hurdle that must be cleared before legislation can move forward in either chamber. With two months left on the legislative calendar, the chances of delivering a bill to the president’s desk by Christmas diminish the longer Democrats wrangle over public option.

  1. What’s left to do!?

  2. If this passes, it will implode in their faces and we’ll be there to make sure they are sniffing the ashes. It will all but guarantee that the 2010 and 2012 elections will be revolutionary, in throwing out the leftists for the next 50 years.

    What’s left to do!?

Surely you knew that this was going to happen, didn’t you? I don’t understand people asking what they can do to stop it. The answer is nothing. If they choose to ignore the will of the electorate, they’ll pass it.

The only solution is to throw all of them out of office and elect only those who promise to undo it. But asking how we can stop it is a waste of time. We’re in it up to our necks. That’s why it was vital to elect McCain instead of Obama.

But the country chose to elect Obama and then hope he wouldn’t do what he said he was going to do. Very bad decision.

  4. I do not know why Reid is hell bent doing the public option when he will be voted out of 2010. But of course, he has no clue what he is pushing because a moron will always be moron.

  5. hopefully obamacare will cover protologist cost’s because the american people are going to need a good proctologist after congress gets done with us.

But I think our condition might be terminal and it’ll be more cost effective for us to be sent to the “death panels” where a highly paid federal appointee bureaucrat will either issue a thumbs up or thumbs down as we are herded in front of his excellency (like in the Roman Colosseum).

Those people who work oppose this bill, those people who don’t work always want the free government handout.

  6. I don’t know why anyone with a reasoning brain didn’t know, couldn’t see, or doubted for a minute that obama and company was going to do this.

He told everyone who would listen what his plans for America are – but most of the people just said, “Naah. He doesn’t really mean it. That’s not what he *really* wants to do.”

Well, boys and girls, he *really* meant it and he *really* wants to stick it to us. The only thing to do now – if it actually does pass (and it most likely will) – is to work hard for the 2010 election of people who promise to overturn/repeal this monstrosity (and cap & trade when it’s passed).
And that means going all-out for the people on our side of this thing.

This will be only ONE battle in what promises to be a long, hard, dirty war for the next three years. And every battle will be hard – and we probably won’t win every one.
But it’s vital that we put people into congress in 2010 who are for the people rather than the socialist/marxists/fascists that are in now.

Don’t lose heart — and never, ever give up. Never give an inch to evil.

  7. People keep saying that we will throw the bums out in 2010, but I don’t believe that King Obama has any intentions of us ever having another election. So far we have not been able to stop him from doing exactly what he wants. Why does anyone expect him to do anything less than drastically transforming the US as he promised. We would not be the first country that woke up too late and found ourselves powerless to do anything to stop what is going on. The American people do not want his healthcare, cap and trade, card check, government takeover of private business, but has that given those people one minutes pause? No! They think we are all stupid, and the ones who voted for him “just to make history” are going to find out the hard way just how much damage they have done–but it will be too late.

Yes, that’s why Obama has already ceded the incredibly important Virginia gubernatorial election and thrown Creigh Deeds under the bus. Because he’s going to prevent us from ever having another election again. Ever.

  9. The only thing we can do is make the Dems own it. High time they start being held accountable. All of their bipartisanship crap needs to come home to roost!

  10. Reid always says this. He’s been saying this since back in the summer. I’ll believe it when I see it. If it passes, there are plenty of challenges down the pipeline on whether it is constitutional, which it isn’t.

  11. SO much for the United States Constitution, eh?

  12. He’s getting close, Obama is pulling out all the stops, which is why he declared a national emergency over a flu less deadly than the regular flu.

    Worry, Panic, submission.

Never let a good crisis go to waste.

It is all about destroying your belief that you can take care of yourself and your family, without their help.

George Orwell must be turning in his grave.

  13. Obama’s entire agenda is aimed at using Health Care and the Environment via Cap and Tax to effect a socialist takeover. He is willing to do or say anything, sacrifice anything, and even become a one-term president (his words) in order to make that happen. He cares NOTHING for what happens abroad. He wants to take over the United States first and foremost and focuses on that.

Tom McClintock spoke in Fresno today about Obama’s Cap and Tax takeover plan:

  14. Go ahead Harry, make it happen. Make damn sure it has the public option in it, and fine those who don’t participate. Hell, put them in jail if they don’t participate.

  15. They have the votes, they don’t . . . they have the votes, they don’t . . . and on and on and on.

    Which is it?

  16. thank you RNC-CRP RSCC-et al for the slippery slide -and wimpy Rsss that you all continually foisted upon us….
    too late now….
    or – is it—

  17. ” Obama has already ceded the incredibly important Virginia gubernatorial election…” (Tom W. Hypogean)

Usurper Obama don’t give a damn about that election. He cares only about 2010 and 2012. But, Marcia is right. There won’t be any election of his ratings are too low. If you would be smart, you would start publishing false polls that makes the Usurper look good. He might fall for it and not cancel elections.

  18. Here’s what happened, folks. Y’all got “rope-a-doped.” Our President let the big, fat, silly, ignorant, Corporate-hired, Corporate-duped town hall disrupters make fools of themselves all summer long, until most Americans got tired and disgusted.

And then he calmly gathered enough votes in the Senate to pass some long overdue health care revisions that will actually benefit these same silly tools who were screaming and weaaring guns to civil meetings all summer.

Dang, without us liberals to take care of you folks, you’d all probably starve or accidently off yourselves while cleaning one of your 427 personally-owned assault rifles.

    LOL

  19. I’m not buying the report. Last week, the opposition was strong. Today, it’s crumbling? I know we’re talking about liberals but they won’t vote for something knowing it’s the end of their political careers.

  20. PS- I’m supposed to believe that we’ve gone from 13 Democrats voting against the Doc Fix to now having enough to defeat a filibuster? I’m not buying it.

  21. Well well well, FINALLY, someone fact checks democrat lies about insurance companies!

    The AP no less!

    “Another Democrat healthcare lie exposed”

  22. If Democrats are proposing to spend 1 trillion on insuring 30 million people for five years then it would cost 2 trillion for the same people for ten years. Now we all know that at the end of those first ten years there would be know private insurance or medical care still available. My question is this.

There are 300 million people in the US based on last census. If it will take 2 trillion to insure 30 million for ten years, how much will it take to insure the other 270 million people for the next ten years?

This is the financial burden that the Obama team and Democrats want to put on your children. Instead of being good stewarts for the next generation it is their intent to enslave future generations for the forseeable future.
