The Club for Growth released its latest poll today that shows conservative Doug Hoffman has surged ahead of liberal democrat Bill Owens and liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava:

The poll of 300 likely voters, conducted October 24-25, 2009, shows Conservative Doug Hoffman at 31.3%, Democrat Bill Owens at 27.0%, Republican Dede Scozzafava at 19.7%, and 22% undecided. The poll’s margin of error is +/- 5.66%. No information was provided about any of the candidates prior to the ballot question.

This is the third poll done for the Club for Growth in the NY-23 special election, and Doug Hoffman is the only candidate to show an increase in his support levels in each successive poll. The momentum in the race is clearly with Hoffman.

You can donate to Doug’s campaign at his website here.

Meanwhile… Pro-Obama Stimulus Plan Dede Scozzafava campaigned with Pro-Obama Stimulus Senator Susan Collins this weekend.

Talk about out of touch– The NRCC will spend $200,000 to $300,000 on “TV ads propping up Scozzafava in the days leading up to the Nov. 3 contest and plans to keep up a near relentless barrage of press releases slamming Hoffman.”
What a disgrace.

UPDATE: Tim Pawlenty endorsed conservative Doug Hoffman today.

  3. Several dozen trips to the woodshed like this may just buy the GOP a clue. No bet.

  6. Ahh. a conservative’s favorite sport.. RINO hunting.

  7. And the moral of the story? Quit sending donations to the RNC and the RNCC and all GOP party machines!

Send support directly to the candidates who demonstrate a principled stand on the issues and uncompromising support of the Constitution, limited government, and personal liberty.

When we cut off the food supply, the RINO-GOP leeches will wither away.

And Newt is fully revealed as the two-faced talker that he is – perfectly satisfied with politics as usual. Newt has aligned himself with perceived power and is on the wrong side, again. Newt is done.

  8. Doug is going to win. Democrats will cross and deserted their candidate Owens.

  9. I’m broke and out of work. Can someone send Doug a few bucks for me?
No more money for the RNC/RNCC until they get their heads out of their donkeys.

  10. This is exactly why I quit sending the RNC money.

Dede needs to get the hell out of the race.

  11. The RNC/RNCC keeps sendingme requests for money ~ and I just write across the form, “All out of RINO feed.”

Sometimes I include a note explaining why I won’t give them money, but I doubt that anyone reads it – so I just let’em figure it out for themselves.

They get NO more money from me until they start running actual Republican/Conservative candidates.

  12. That jerk who is sitting in for Rush today is lecturing everyone about why it’s stupid to vote for Hoffman and ‘smart’ to vote for Scozzafava. He sound like a Gingrich clone.

  13. Margin of error is +-5.66%. Statistically, at least when the poll was conducted, it was a dead heat between Hoffman and Owens.

  14. John Cooper:
… why it’s stupid to vote for Hoffman and ’smart’ to vote for Scozzafava.

The GOP establishment continues to delude themselves that conservatives will once again be duped into choosing pragmatism over principle.
They are about to find out what ‘stupid’ is. [hint: it isn't true conservatives refusing to support these RINO's]

Maybe they’ll get a clue soon. Throw the bums out!

  15. What is going on with the RNC? I am not getting this. The country is more and more conservative, especially as to fiscal spending. This is what we need to focus on…

  16. Contact the NRCC

It’s a certainty that they’ve been contacted already regarding this, and yet they’re still backing the RINO. The best thing to do for conservatives is to back the candidate of their choice directly, and not to send the Republican Party any money until they wise up. This assumes that they will wise up.

    If they don’t, well, tough.

  17. We need to contact the NRCC and tell them what we think of their support of Scozzafava! We need to tell them to shape up and stop supporting Rino’s!

  18. Here is the NRCC site with phone numbers and an e-mail address: http://www.nrcc.org/about/contact.aspx

  19. Call or write the NRCC and give them hell! I did and feel alot better, will it make a difference, who knows but at least they know we are watching.

I used to have alot of respect for Newt Gingrich but no more. He has made a very serious error in jugement for supporting this RINO. His choice, as well as the NRCC begs the question:
What they say in public and what goes on behind closed doors is two different things. It shows lack of principle and fortutide of purpose. I will NEVER give the RNC another penny again. I will send any money’s directly to the candidate who actually votes conservative and is not embarassed to stand for this.

I called the NRA as well and told them to drop my membership for supporting Dede the RINO. I told them that their endorsement was very shortsighted and although she has been a supporter of the 2nd amendment, Doug Hoffman was also a lifelong NRA member. If the NRA is playing politics like Gingrich, hell with them too. There are other gunrights groups that are deserving of my support.

I further went a wrote http://www.cheaperthandirt.com and asked that they withdraw their add a buck program that supports the NRA and give that cash to another deserving second amendant supporting group.

RINO’s have ruined the republican party, that after being a life long member of this party I can now find no reason to support their two faced leadership. Unless the leadership of the RNC changes, they will never get another red cent from me, or my vote again…..ever! From now on I am voting for the canidadite, not the party.

  20. The NRCC is the same group that WITHDREW funding for Michele Bachmann in the 2008 election after her chris matthews interview.

  21. Not a cent. Until the Republican party becomes Conservative, I want nothing to do with them.

  22. HEY!! # 11-I`m listening to Rush right now and Mark ? is filling in and in no way has he said to vote for that RINO!! Either listen or shut up!!

  23. Looks pretty close. The outcome may depend on how many acorns go in the ballot box.

  24. She campaigned with Susan Collins?
Why not just campaign with Karl Marx while you’re at it?

  25. As I mentioned here:

    http://tinyurl.com/yzdbl3y

I’ve been a citizen-activist since Barry Goldwater– not old enough to vote, I bore his sticker on my Karmann Ghia with pride… and in an area that was 80% Southern Democrat, it made life interesting.

Every Damn Election cycle, I told The Stupid Party that I wanted lower & fewer taxes, less regulation and bureaucracy, a strong military, support for the Bill of Rights— all the good conservative “stuff.”

And Every Damn Election cycle, they kept tellin’ me,

“Yeah, but we don’t hold the Congress…”
“Yeah, but we don’t hold the Senate…”
“Yeah, but we don’t hold the Presidency…”

So I– and many others- helped them get there, and when they did, they taxed and spent and regulated like a Damn bunch of Democrats.

And now they have the gall to run DIABLO Dede… might as well run a Democrat.

I got another begging/threatening mail from them today, and while tempted to stuff it with roofing lead, send it back, and make ‘em pay postage, I finally just tossed it.

Show me a candidate who will run on, and act on, conservative values & principles, and I’ll support ‘em regardless of party– but I’m not giving one Damn Dime to national Republicans of any organization until and unless they start listening to the grassroots again.

  26. Jeannette:
You’re mistaken. Mark what’s-his-name read this poll poll from the Daily Kos (I’m not making this up) which that said Owen, the democrat candidate, was ahead of Scozzafava by 4 points, and ahead of Hoffman by 10 points, with only 12% undecided in the race. He went on and on about “Voting for Hoffman is just going to give Pelosi another vote”. It was about 20 minutes into the show. (I had to shut if off.)

  27. Disgruntled “true conservatives” make the worst kinds of voters, next to liberals.

Just keep telling yourselves that you’re holding the GOP’s feet to the fire. And stop all that yammering about not donating any money. You and I both know you weren’t footing the bill for anything, anyway.

    Thanks, A Republican

  28. Tim Pawlenty Endorses Hoffman via Redstate:

“We cannot send more politicians to Washington who wear the Republican jersey on the campaign trail, but then vote like Democrats in Congress on issues like card check and taxes. After reviewing the candidates’ positions, I’m endorsing Doug Hoffman in New York’s special election. Doug understands the federal government needs to quit spending so much, will vote against tax increases, and protect key values like the right to vote in private in union elections.”

  29. the RNC-RNSC-RNCC-CRP et.al. have not had our –US citizens’ –best interest at heart for a VERY long time….
I’ve been pointing it out for a VERY loooooong time…

  30. The RNC and the NRCC finally got the hint and stopped asking me for money.

    Go Hoffman! NY-23!!

    blah, blah, blah. gibber. blah.
    Thanks, A Republican

    .
Suuuuurrre you are. And connnnnncerrrrrned, too.

  32. Doug will be on Glenn Beck’s TV show tonight at 5:30 on FoxNews.

  33. Don’t we have enough RINOs already? For Pete’s sake they even nominated one to run for president! I wish some national polling agency would run a poll with the questions:
Did you vote for John McCain soley because he nominate Sara Palin as his running mate?

  34. This should just about cinch it, LOL

    ‘Cuda 1, Newt 0

    And where’s Romney?

    Pawlenty?

    The Huckster?

We need a LEADER in this country… not lickspittles like these guys.

Funny… Sarah’s the only one with a full set!

  35. This is really going to shake things up at the convention as well.

Even more perhaps than in ’76 when the Gipper 1st burst on the national scene!

  36. ++

    Amen!!

    that is great news..

the Dems are sweating, but so are the “wishy
washy” Republicans, and that’s a good thing!!

    Godspeed to you Hoffman!! (thumbsup)

    ==

  37. I sent a donation to Hoffman. Scozzafava can sit in the “big tent” with RINO Collins and the disappointing Newt Gingrich.

  38. If Repubs have to lose a race in order to figure out that you don’t endorse a candidate who does not support the American principles of their constituency, then so be it. That’s like a major sports team being happy about winning a game not on the grounds that they played well, but because the other team played poorly.

    Independent and Proud

  39. Collins, eh? Well THAT just says it all. No wait, the Margaret Sanger Award pretty much said it all first.

  40. The RNC just will not except that the people are on to their elitist attitude. Well if they don’t learn now they will learn in 2010 and Obama will continue to screw the county.
