The Houston Obama mural on the side of a Midtown building was defaced over the weekend.
The mural now reads, “Yes we can… Lose our freedom.”

Houston Channel 2 has video.
Vandals defaced the big Obama mural on the side of a Houston building.
39 Online reported:
The mural of President Barack Obama has been on the side of a Midtown building since the Democratic primary, when the president was a U.S. Senator, and the building served as his Houston Campaign headquarters.
Over the weekend someone painted “puppet” on his mural, and the statement “yes we can” now has the statement “loose our freedom” painted next to it.
“This was done in broad daylight, and it just and kind of defaced a pretty good memorial,” said Gerry McGee who works in the building where the mural is located.
The building is now the campaign headquarters for a mayoral candidate, and campaign worker Mcgee is pretty disappointed that someone vandalized a picture of the President. “We’ll move on. This is not going to stop the movement. This is not going to stop the excitement that Obama has brought to the country,” McGee said.
It’s a mural that’s seen tens of thousands of commuters every day.

The excitement, of course, being confined largely to the welfare office and the local firearms store, for opposing reasons.
“The movement” will remain active as long as Obama’s overlords at Goldman Sachs allow it to be so.

Okay, Sherlock, pull up a chair. Because of the list of people who could have done this ‘defacing,’ or improvement … depending on your political point of view … Probably saw this mural every day. On the way to work. And, on the way home. So, you tell me. Whose the obvious perp? You think republicans knew this mural was there? I don’t think so.
Broad daylight, too. So I guess the painter was dressed in white overalls. Not to be considered anyone BUT a painter. Just doing his work.
Maybe, even in Chicago there are enough unemployed Obama voters who have caught on that their ship hasn’t exactly docked.
There’s also another reason this keeps making the news. Just like traffic accidents draw attention, how many Obama voters did you think were gonna get screwed?
Actually, in politics, you’re not supposed to turn off voters! That’s why ‘when you step on stage’ you want the audience to like you.
Remember Reagan? People LOVED HIM! It didn’t matter their politics. He was genuinely likable. It was considered a plus.
Remember Eisenhower? He didn’t mind his campaign slogan “I LIKE IKE.” See? In politics if you can create a frame of reference where you are liked, you do better.
Eisenhower did better than LBJ. Did better than Nixon. Did better than Carter. And, definitely did better than either of the Bush’s.
So, go ahead. Show me how having political tin ears works at anything but LOSING customers! You want some advice? If you lose a customer, it’s harder to bring them back into your store. Lose enough customers, and you go out of business.
Kids on trust funds, however, never learned how the trust funds got created in the first place.

Victory against Big Labor: Home health providers reject SEIU, AFSCME power grab
Illinois workers who are paid by the state to care for severely disabled people in their homes have voted down an effort to unionize.
More than 3,000 home health care workers mailed in their ballots this month; the ballots were counted on Monday and most of those workers voted not to join a union, according to Alan Symonette, an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, which counted the vote.
The votes were counted today and despite Big Labor’s massive coffers, manpower, and out-of-state propaganda campaign, the unionization effort was an epic fail. Here’s an exclusive look at the breakdown:
SEIU – 293 votes
AFSCME – 220 votes
NO UNION – 1018 votes

The sentence “Yes we can lose our freedom” can describe either the present or the future.
ObamaCare, cap and trade will definitely curtail our freedom by removing many of our choices. As for the present, the stimulus legislation has many strings attached to it. Federal money comes with restrictions which also limit our freedoms.
Just because you refuse to admit it doesn’t make it true.

The debt and government spending will limit freedoms. Our children and grandchildren will be virtual surfs working to fund the big machine of government, with limited rights to their own property and income.
Also, the pending government takeover of our heath care resources will limit our ability to make the best choices for our health and that of our loved ones. (Remember the golden rule: he with the gold makes the rules – government will take your money and then TELL YOU what you get)
And Cap & Trade will make us all poorer without the promised benefits of improving the environment, taxing us heavily and ‘redistributing’ this wealth to others.
I could go on and on.
Wake up and be honest. All this taxation and control – they tell you its for your own good – but its really about their power and control.

You’ve still haven’t answered my questions, Martin. Would forcing citizens to buy health insurance under the threat of penalty/jail be considered a loss of freedom? And, do we have to wait for the legislation to be passed to voice our opposition before our concerns are credible?
Martin commented:
I don’t think forcing you to buy health insurance is any different than forcing you have insurance on your house and car. Same thing. You have to have it on everything. I think it is a good thing and if made affordable will make our country healthy and better for the future.

You can choose not to own a house or a car without penalty. So they’re not the same thing. And just because you think it’s a good thing shouldn’t dictate whether or not I choose to carry health insurance.
Martin commented:
Well see, I’m dealing in reality. Even if you rent an apt you have to have renters insurance (in some states). The health of our people is important and vital to the work force and the economy.
And if you don’t have health insurance and get sick and go tot he emergency room, the tax payers and the hospitals have to pay for it. Nice…
President Mop commented:
Martin, is it a loss of freedom? Wasn’t that your original challenge? You keep going back to the “but it benefits everyone” theme without regard for individual choice.

Carole, while I agree with you in principle, I must respectfully disagree about George W. Bush. You can say many things about him but you cannot accuse him of of having a thin skin. He was leader and made decisions and endured an incredible amount of abuse from the media and the left beset with BDS. Hell, they are still obsessed with hatred of him.

If you own your car (without a lienholder having the title) you only have to have liability insurance. That way, if you cause an accident, you are covered for your responsibility to make it right to the other driver. It is the lienholder that makes you get better than liability insurance.
Same thing with home owners insurance. If you own your home, you don’t have to have any insurance.
If you really want health insurance to be made affordable, then going down the public/government/coop option path is exactly the wrong way to go.

Every time the government grows more powerful, we lose freedom. The more government we have, the less freedom we have. We’re losing our freedom to live how we want every day and just because Obama hasn’t been 100% successful in taking our freedoms away (yet), he’s trying his damnedest to do so and real Americans won’t stand for it. If you want the government to tell you how to live your life – what kind of car to drive, where you can drive it, what food you can eat, what light bulbs to use, what cable news to watch, what talk radio to listen to, whatever – Then be my guest. Be a slave. Be addicted to welfare or govt health insurance, but pay for it your own damn self! Don’t tell everyone else to be a slave just like you so that you can be a piece of human crap.

Carol Herman commented:
There are lessons to be learned in politics. And, just by tuning in we get to see different people handling the Oval Office. Eisenhower, for instance, not only handled it well. He was the desired nominee by both parties. But Eisenhower didn’t like the way there were insiders who controlled the democraps. And, he’s on record of claiming he didn’t want to be their puppet. Where he’d gain the office. But powers behind the curtain wouldn’t really let him make decisions.
Again, it was Eisenhower’s choice to run as a republican. He had not been political while in the service. He certainly didn’t belong to the ‘other party’ while FDR was in office!
And, Eisenhower, though he was used to being saluted by soldiers each and every day, still ran as a man with a ‘common touch.’ Hence, not only the slogan “I like Ike.” It was designed to appeal, for a reason.
We’ve also seen men who became presidents who really lacked warmth. (Dubya’s not one of them! To the Secret Service detail, as expressed by Ron Kessler in his book, Dubya was two different people. RELAXED among others! Fun. And, funny, to boot. But if you put a microphone in front of his face, he froze.)
And, like it or not the republican party began shedding voters back in 2006. Sure. With tricks. Nancy Pelosi’s bag was full of them. (That’s how people get elected.)
Why was LBJ such a dog? Why did Nixon revert to paranoia? Why was Jimmy Carter so fake? But got in, the same way Ross Perot climbed in the polls. People were LOOKING for ‘change.’
Obama capitalized on republican mistakes. You just can’t fool me. McPain, it seems, isn’t even liked by republicans. But for some reason these stinkers think they know what democraps like! So McPain was a menu item served up to satisfy opponents. Beats me how anyone even pays their staffs money to come up with research. You’d do better plucking ideas out of a hat.
And, as long as Obama accomplishes nothing? He could get re-elected. Because Americans, in the majority, trust NO ONE in politics! They’ll split their tickets if they have to, just to deny the ‘trifecta’ to any one particular party.
Like finding hollywood stars, we fall short. When once it was so easy! John Wayne. Marlon Brando. Came from nowhere. But, somehow, the chiefs knew what worked. And, now we only get what doesn’t.
