Backed Into a Corner– Ifill Plays Race Card… McCain Criticizes Ifill Selection
This was a horrible reaction by Gwen Ifill after she was busted for not disclosing to her Obama bias to the Commission on Presidential Debates or the McCain-Palin Camp.
The AP reported:
Ifill questions why people assume that her book will be favorable toward Obama.
“Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?” said Ifill, who is black. Asked if there were racial motives at play, she said, “I don’t know what it is. I find it curious.”
In a sane world it would be Ifill’s responsibility to disclose her pro-Obama book project.
It was disappointing to see all of the libs put the blame for this on the McCain-Palin Camp.
Ifill, who is a respected journalist and who did a fine job in the 2004 debates, ought to be ashamed of herself.
Glenn Reynolds shared some thoughts today on the liberal media’s campaigning for Obama.
Senator John McCain criticized the selection of PBS journalist Gwen Ifill as moderator of the Vice-presidential debate tonight in St. Louis.
The Politico reported:
Hours ahead of the vice presidential debate, Sen John McCain (R-Ariz.) criticized the selection of PBS’ Gwen Ifill as moderator because she is writing a book called “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.”
“Frankly, I wish they had picked a moderator that isn’t writing a book favorable to Barack Obama — let’s face it,” McCain said on “Fox & Friends.” “But I have to have to have confidence that Gwen Ifill will handle this as the professional journalist that she is. …
“Life isn’t fair, as I mentioned earlier in the program.””
