McCain-Palin Pull Ahead in Missouri & South Carolina

The McCain-Palin ticket is starting to pull away from Obama in Missouri.
Jo Mannies reported today at the St. Louis Post Dispatch:

Republican presidential nominee John McCain has improved his standing among Missouri voters.

And he may have running mate Sarah Palin to thank.

McCain’s growing support from women and fellow Republicans are key reasons why he holds a slight lead over Democrat Barack Obama in the latest Missouri poll conducted for the Post-Dispatch and KMOV-TV (Channel 4) by Research 2000, a Maryland-based polling firm.

Among the 800 likely Missouri voters polled last week, 49 percent favored McCain compared to 45 percent for Obama. The remaining 6 percent were undecided, or split between the three minor-party tickets on the ballot.

In South Carolina, McCain-Palin are now leading 51-45 according to a new Rasmussen report.
