Republican Presidential Primary Debate on FOX News

FOX News held the GOP Presidential debate tonight from Florida.

Republican presidential candidates (L-R) former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) and U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) gather onstage prior to the Republican Party of Florida and Fox News Channel debate in Orlando, Florida October 21, 2007. Powerline says Romney was solid.

John McCain got a standing ovation for his military record and this line:

“Hillary tried to get a million dollars for the Woodstock museum. I understand it was a major cultural and pharmaceutical event. I couldn’t attend. I was tied up at the time.”

It was good to see the crowd show their appreciation for this war hero’s service, something that you would unlikely see if this was a democratic presidential primary debate.

The FOX News pilot group overwhelmingly chose Rudy Giuliani as the winner of this debate pointing to his clear and confident message.
And, of course, the FOX News text poll had Ron Paul as the winner.
