Surprise!… Leftist Blogs Siding With Iranian Regime Over US

The Leftist creator of the Huffington Post is already praising the Jew-hater Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his stellar week…

Just wait until they hear about the latest accusations against the CIA… They may want to nominate the whole Iranian Regime for their Nobel Peace Prize!

Meanwhile… The Daily Kos was already two steps ahead of the Iranian regime. Kos writer Pen figured that the US was holding diplomat Jalal Sharafi back on Wednesday.

The commenters at The Democratic Underground don’t beat around the Bush… “I trust the iranians, more then our administration.”

But, the thing is… the US denies they had anything to do with Jalal Sharafi’s detention or release.

Earlier today the BBC reported that the released Iranian diplomat, Jalal Sharafi, said he was tortured by the CIA while he was detained in Iraq:

An Iranian diplomat freed last week after being abducted in Iraq in February has said he was tortured by his captors, including CIA agents.
Jalal Sharafi, the second secretary at Iran’s embassy in Baghdad, told Iranian media the agents had interrogated him on his country’s role in Iraq.

Mr Sharafi said he had been taken from his car by men in Iraqi army uniforms.

The White House said the US had not been involved in his detention, and it welcomed Mr Sharafi’s return to Iran.

The US released a statement just hours ago calling the charges typical “Iranian theatrics”:

The US has denied claims made by an Iranian diplomat abducted in Iraq that he was tortured in captivity by people who included CIA agents.

A US spokesman said Jalal Sharafi’s allegations of a US role in his detention were “theatrics” from the “Iranian propaganda machine”.

Sweetness and Light says it best- “If only the CIA would do one tenth of the things they are accused of doing, the world would be a far better place.”
