Cheney Says Pelosi & Murtha Plan Validates Al Qaeda (Video)

Cheney says the democratic plan for Iraq validates Al Qaeda!

In an interview today with ABC News Vice President Dick Cheney said that the Murtha and Pelosi plan for Iraq validates the Al-Qaeda strategy:
(51 seconds)

Here is the transcript of the Vice President’s interview from ABC News:

Cheney also had harsh words for Democratic leaders, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Jack Murtha, D-Pa., who says he wants to stop the surge of more U.S. troops into Iraq.

Cheney said Pelosi and other Democrats were pushing a policy in Iraq that would “validate the al Qaeda strategy.”

“I think if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we’ll do is validate the al Qaeda strategy,” Cheney told ABC News.

“The al Qaeda strategy is to break the will of the American people, knowing they can’t win in a stand-up fight, try to convince us to throw in the towel and come home and then they win because we quit,” he said.

“I think that is exactly the wrong course to go on,” Cheney said. “I think that is the course of action that Speaker Pelosi and Jack Murtha support. I think it would be a mistake for the country.”

It’s going to be hard for democrats to argue with the Vice President on this one!
After all… All you have to do is look back at Al Qaeda’s own statements.
Here is what Osama bin Laden said in a PBS interview in 1998:

As I said, our boys were shocked by the low morale of the American soldier and they realized that the American soldier was just a paper tiger. He was unable to endure the strikes that were dealt to his army, so he fled.

After a few blows, it forgot all about those titles and rushed out of Somalia in shame and disgrace, dragging the bodies of its soldiers. America stopped calling itself world leader and master of the new world order, and its politicians realized that those titles were too big for them and that they were unworthy of them.

Al-Qaeda’s latest video star and #2 player, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, said this just last week:

Al-Zawahri called what he described as Bush’ failure in Iraq and the growing Taliban resistance in Afghanistan the “most important events” of the past year. He also said that “the people cooperating with the United States in Afghanistan and in Iraq would be abandoned by the Americans once they fail…

And, you need look no further than the drawn out plans of Al-Qaeda by al Zarqawi back in 2005 to know that Cheney is correct in his assertions:

The letter of instructions and requests outlines a four-stage plan, according to officials:
First, expel American forces from Iraq.
Second, establish a caliphate over as much of Iraq as possible.
Third, extend the jihad to neighboring countries, with specific reference to Egypt and the Levant — a term that describes Syria and Lebanon.
And finally, war against Israel.

U.S. officials say they were struck by the letter’s emphasis on the centrality of Iraq to al Qaeda’s long-term mission.
