74 years ago today…

On January 30, 1933, around noon, Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany.

“I will employ my strength for the welfare of the German people, protect the Constitution and laws of the German people, conscientiously discharge the duties imposed on me, and conduct my affairs of office impartially and with justice to everyone.” – the oath taken by Adolf Hitler.

On January 31, 2007

Venezuelan politicians will centralize power around Hugo Chavez. Chavez calls Cuban President Fidel Castro his father and declared himself a communist when he took office this month for a new six-year term, but denies he wants to turn the nation of avid consumers into another Cuba.
