Liberal Media Defines Roberts

I hope that the Media Research Center is taking note of all of the press reports about the “ultra-conservative” Supreme Court Nominee John G. Roberts Jr.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch headlines… “Supreme Court pick is a strong conservative voice”.

The NYT is calling Roberts a “conservative federal appellate judge”.

It makes you wonder about how the liberal media described Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an ACLU lawyer, when she was nominated by Bill Clinton in 1993?

And,… more “Reaction to the Reaction” by reader Dale P.:

They will decry anything and everything and anyone that Bush supports in earnest. They have been detrimental to our nation and its values for far too long. The utterances of Harry Reid: “The president has chosen someone with suitable legal credentials, but that is not the end of our inquiry. The Senate must review Judge Roberts’ record to determine if he has a demonstrated commitment to the core American values of freedom, equality and fairness.”

I find laughable, coming from the likes of him. They do not even have their OWN core values, let alone attempting to define if Judge Roberts has such qualifying values.

Typically, the well-informed (?) Babs Boxer says: “Without prejudging the nominee, I do believe Judge Roberts’ record raises questions about his commitment to the right to privacy, protection of the environment and other important issues.” She mentions “without prejudging”, and then goes on to do just that and set up the obvious point that she will oppose him. No soul, this girl, and stupid is as stupid does could be her motto.

And from the grand Islamofacist supporter, Dickie Durbin, and whom spits out the very words on what they want : “The president had an opportunity to unite the country with his Supreme Court nomination, to nominate an individual in the image of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Instead, by putting forward John Roberts’ name, President Bush has chosen a more controversial nominee and guaranteed a more controversial confirmation process.” (One has to wonder HOW it is that a SCOTUS nomination has one whit to do with UNITING the country??! What blather.) He throws down yet another leftist gaunlet.
