The Post Dispatch has an article today about dirty politics in this last special election on early April 5th to select the state Senate Seats:
The Missouri Republican Party is accusing a St. Louis direct-mail firm, among others, of participating in illegal attack campaigns that helped defeat a GOP state Senate candidate this month.
The state GOP filed a complaint Wednesday with the Missouri Ethics Commission asking for an investigation into the identities of the groups who launched election-eve mailing campaigns blasting Republican Bill Hickle of Rolla. Democrat Frank Barnitz of Lake Spring won the April 5 special election for the 16th District state Senate seat.
The complaint alleges that bogus groups were listed on the fliers, a violation of state election law.
