Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, will be greeted by several thousand protestors when he meets with President George W. Bush.
Jewish and Christian supporters of Israel plan to bring in more than 500 busloads of Americans to Crawford, Texas, where the Prime Minister is to meet with Bush on Monday.
Oklahoma pastor Jim Vineyard and Women in Green leader Ruth Matar are organizing the protests with the backing of the conservative Freeman Institute, which is encouraging people to appear with banners against the planned destruction of 25 Jewish communities and the expulsion of the residents living there.
Buses are scheduled to leave Colorado Sunday and arrive in Texas 16 hours later, in time for breakfast before the 2 p.m. rally.
In all, things will come up roses, if we only believe. If we only believe and expel 8,000 Jews from Gush Katif, the year 2005 will usher in hope. We can believe that, if we only don’t allow reality to butt in.
We Israelis, after all, are particularly adept at avoiding unwanted reminders of discrepancies between how we want things to be and how they are. We’re unique in our capacity to ignore what doesn’t mesh with our collective pipe dream and to adhere to it like no others can.
Israpundit has more from Ruth Matar.
And, Pastor Jim Vineyard had this to say in an Open Letter posted on Israpundit:
Sir, the Palestinians have great P.R., but it is really B.S. (Pardon my poor boy from the panhandle of your Texas’ French.) Let’s not be PC and incur God Almighty’s wrath upon US.
Look for the buses heading south on Sunday!
